All electricity in Sumner County is generated and transmitted by the Tennessee Valley Authority, one of the lowest cost generators in the country.  Power supply and quality are excellent, as TVA is the nations largest public power corporation.  Power is then re-sold through several local distributors, which include:

Natural Gas

With the Cumberland River forming the southern border of Sumner County, there is adequate water supply for the largest of industrial facilities.  Local service providers include:

Telecommunications

Sumner County has excellent data and telecommunications infrastructure including close proximity to redundant fiber-optic networks.  AT&T is the primary provider for the majority of the county, and the Town of Westmoreland is served by North Central Telephone Cooperative.

Regulation and Oversight of Telecommunications

The Tennessee Regulatory Authority (TRA) is responsible for overseeing and guiding the telecommunications industry in Tennessee.  The TRA's Telecommunications Division provides recommendations for development of competitive and affordable service.
